Short version: there are no accounts and no advertising trackers, and analytics cookies are only used if you accept them. Your height and inseam stay in your own browser unless you choose to share them. This policy explains the details. Last updated 2026-10-20.
Who runs this site
Motorcycle Ergonomics (motorcycleergonomics.com) is run by Animesh Maity (SyncMethods). If you have a question about your data, email [email protected].
What stays in your browser
When you use the calculator, everything happens on your own device. If you press Save my measurements, your height, inseam, optional arm and torso lengths, boot sole and posture preference are saved in your browser’s local storage, so the next page you open already knows your size. Your choice of units, theme, language and dash style is saved the same way, and a pinned baseline is kept until you close the tab.
None of this is sent to us. To delete it, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Share links
A share link (Copy link) puts your measurements into the web address so the other person sees the same result. Anyone you send it to can read those numbers, so only share it with people you’re happy to show them to.
Emails you send us
Fit reports, corrections and contact messages open your own email app with a message for you to review and send. We receive what you send, plus your email address, and use it only to reply and to improve the data. We don’t add you to any mailing list. Ask us at any time and we’ll delete your emails.
Anonymous click counting
To find out whether riders find the “Shop parts” suggestions useful, the site may count, per day, how often those buttons are shown and clicked, with the fix, the motorcycle model and the page language. That’s all. No cookies, no IP address, no device ID and nothing that could identify you is stored. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted at all.
Google Analytics and cookies
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 (run by Google) to see which pages are visited, how people find the site and which tools they use. When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline. Until you accept, Google Analytics runs in a restricted mode that sets no cookies on your device. If you accept, it sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) that last up to two years, and Google receives data such as the pages you view, your approximate location, device and browser. IP addresses are shortened before storage. We don’t use advertising or remarketing features and never send Google your measurements.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining removes the Analytics cookies. You can also block them in your browser or with Google’s opt-out add-on. Google’s own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Hosting
Like every website, our hosting provider handles the requests your browser makes and may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for a short time, for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use these logs to identify or profile visitors. Fonts and scripts are served from our own site; the only exception is the Google Analytics script, loaded from Google.
Links to shops and other sites
Some suggestions link to online shops so you can look up parts. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies once you’re there. If we ever earn a commission from such links, we’ll say so next to them.
Children
This site is meant for adults choosing a motorcycle. We don’t knowingly collect anything from children.
Your rights
Because we don’t hold accounts or profiles, the only personal data we may have is the email you sent us. You can ask us to show it to you, correct it or delete it by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA) you may also be able to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
